The case for inclusion is always concrete: the place is worthwhile, close enough, or difficult to imagine missing. The cost of including it is structural and therefore easier to overlook.
Every additional base takes time from the places that remain. It adds another departure, arrival, and period of reorientation. The question is not only whether the place deserves to be visited. It is whether it deserves that role in this trip.
Omission does not always mean disappearance. Sometimes a place remains available without becoming another base or another commitment the route must serve.
